Working with the children of West Putnam
The Project Mission
To instruct children in the basic Fire & Life Safety lessons so that they will better
know how to react to an emergency in which they may someday find themself.
Many materials used are supplied by the
US Fire Administration (USFA)
and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Some materials are supplied by
Karl's Kids Program, Inc.

The West Putnam Volunteer Fire Department is offering a comprehensive fire & life safety series of classes  for our area children in Pre-K and Kindergarten. Classes are throughout the school year and currently are aimed at children between the ages of three to six years.

New for the 2007 - 2008 School Year
School Bus Safety Rules.
The Karl's Kids Program staff is putting together a
lesson on safety while riding a school bus to be used in the Safety 4 Kids Series.
Project Goals
That the series of Fire & Life Safety classes will be available to children from Pre-K to 5th grade.That all children no matter the level of their learning ability are taught how to help themselves in an emergency situation.
